Alif Lam Mim - This is the writing itself
There is no room for doubt (Step 1. intellectual relationship with the Quran)
Doubt gets removed when you see a miracle, sometimes not for
the eyes, but for the ears (not for every ear)
Purpose of miracles is to remove doubt
But for the next generation, the doubt occurs again because
the next generation didn’t see it from their own eyes. Cos to them, it’s just a
story
Now, the only way you can see the Quran as a miracle is when
you come looking for it.
If you study Quran in a shallow way, you will find
contradictions
But if you ponder and really read into it, there are no
contradictions
It’s a guidance, counsel, advice (to those who are lost)
A hadiah (gift)
I am constantly seeking guidance (like a body needs water) (Step 2. Emotional relationship
with the Quran)
Fill the thirst of your heart every few hours – solat
Quran has the power to guide you, and it is already actively
guiding you.
Al mutaqim – people who are protecting yourself and
carefully taking a step at a time (like a horse without his battle shoes)à NOUN
Verbs are temporary
Nouns are permanent (timeless)
Look for role models in the past
Al ghaib – those who believe in the unseen
Accept there is a reality that you cannot see, including the
appreciation of the invisible. Also eg, feeling bad when you gossip, etc.
conscience is heightened (Allah is always watching) eg, when you see others who
have more worldly possessions than you, remember the unseen (your reward with
Allah swt.)
Eg, going through physical pain, sickness (those who are
patient will be rewarded)
Eg. Being alone in this world (Allah is always with me)
There are angels whose only jobs are to protect us
We have always been your protecting friends in this world
and the next -angels say to those who are dying
Allah alone owns dignity – He is the one who grants dignity
Backbiting is a big deal – be careful what you blurt out with
your mouth
2:10
1st disease of the heart – ghaib (doubt)
Syaitan has access to your chest, NOT your heart. Our job is
to sense that syaitan is knocking on our hearts, don’t open the door. If you
open the door enough times, you let him move in. what used to be beautiful
becomes ugly and whatever was ugly becomes beautiful (sins)
Master does not owe His slave anything (Allah swt does not
owe us anything)
Primary bond between them is love
Do not associate anything else to Allah swt. i.e. do not love
anything more or together with your love with Allah, including material obsessions
like music, food, money, etc
Whatever has been placed on the earth has been made FOR you,
subdued to you
·
meteors don’t attack the
earth, even though the solar system is actually in constant chaos
·
natural disasters can occur
on us ANYTIME
·
Allah humbled the earth and
the universe, he kept it calm FOR us
Your ruh needs nur, your physical body needs material needs
Before Adam was created, we were ALL (non-believers too!)
souls with Allah, we died, then we were placed in physical bodies in the wombs
of our mothers
-traits of Allah are influenced on us (we are a little bit
like Allah’s 99 names)
He made the world supportive for us to strengthen us to be obedient and grateful to Him
Bilal Khan
Prohibited:
string and wind instruments
haram content
liking musicians – they are doing haram things (drinking,
drugs, other sins)
Pictorial representations of human beings (image making) –
idolatry started through the making of images (to the next generation who were
not communicated how the images were used permissibly during the previous
generation)
People worshipped idols in the shape of people or animals
(so other things like plants, planets and landscapes are still safe)
Permissible:
Percussion instruments (drums)
Singing the Al-Quran

|
1. In the Name of
Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.
2. All the praises and thanks be to Allah, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 3. The Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. 4. The Only Owner (and the Only Ruling Judge) of the Day of Recompense (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) 5. You (Alone) we worship, and You (Alone) we ask for help (for each and everything). 6. Guide us to the Straight Way 7. The Way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace, not (the way) of those who earned Your Anger, nor of those who went astray. |

Surah Al-A'laa
(The Most High) |
1. Glorify the name
of your Lord, the Most High,
2. Who creates, then makes complete, 3. And Who makes [things] according to a measure, then guides [them to their goal], 4. And Who brings forth herbage, 5. Then makes it dried up, dust-colored. 6. We will make you recite so you shall not forget, 7. Except what Allah pleases, surely He knows the manifest, and what is hidden. 8. And We will make your way smooth to a state of ease. 9. Therefore do remind, surely reminding does profit. |
|
10. He who fears
will mind,
11. And the most unfortunate one will avoid it, 12. Who shall enter the great fire; 13. Then therein he shall neither live nor die. 14. He indeed shall be successful who purifies himself, 15. And magnifies the name of his Lord and prays. 16. Nay! you prefer the life of this world, 17. While the hereafter is better and more lasting. 18. Most surely this is in the earlier scriptures, 19. The scriptures of Ibrahim and Musa. |

Islam -> Iman -> Ihsan
Assalamualaikum :)
"You can apply the best of your mind where your heart is."
- Nouman Ali Khan
I have been listening to Bayyinah Podcasts (http://podcast.bayyinah.com/category/002-surah-al-baqarah/page/26/) and here are some things I'd like to share.
"You can apply the best of your mind where your heart is."

I have been listening to Bayyinah Podcasts (http://podcast.bayyinah.com/category/002-surah-al-baqarah/page/26/) and here are some things I'd like to share.
That definition (of ihsan) comes from the Hadith of Gabriel in which Muhammad states, "[Ihsan is] to worship God as though you see Him, and if you cannot see Him, then indeed He sees you". (Al-Bukhari and Al-Muslim).
The Six Articles of Faith
Faith (iman) is generally outlined using the six articles of faith:
- Belief in Allah, The Only God
- Belief in the Angels
- Belief in Holy Books (Quran)
- Belief in the Prophets
- Belief in the Day of Judgement
- Belief in God's predestination
From Surah Al-Baqarah:
1. Faith in the Messenger Nabi Muhammad s.a.w.
2. Believe in Allah
3. Believe in the Last Day and the Afterlife (akhirat)
4. Doing good deeds (act righteously)
Alhamdulillah. Have a wonderful day. :)
Giving zakat
Assalamualaikum :)
So i had a revelation when i was thinking about the prayer dua one recites during tahiyat awal and akhir. It's the first line "attahiyatul bubarakkatus salawatutaybadulillah" which means "All compliments, physical prayer and monetory worship is for Allah"
I have been praying for my heart to be filled with more sincerity when it comes to me doing good deeds, insyaAllah. Cos sometimes when im approached or pass by a beggar, i reject them cos i dont feel that some of them deserve it. But i realise im looking at the whole thing misguidedly. "All monetary worship is for Allah." Like Khai told me, "If u beri dpt pahala. If u tak beri u never get anything."
Alhamdulillah for this significant change of my perspective. I feel blessed by Allah's love, affection and mercy. He has provided for me and gifted me with lots of rezki.
May peace be with you.

Not muslim-friendly workplace
Assalamualikum semua :)
I woke up today feeling blessed because in the middle of the night, I awoke for no reason. After some debating with myself in my head, I decided to go with the side of me which was nagging at me to pray sunat. I went back to sleep and not long after, it was time for me to start the day and pray Subuh.
I love my job. The only two things that aren't favourable are
1. I always miss Zuhr prayer
2. Food served are mostly non-halal
I work at a Korean company, you see. So they're not Muslim friendly per se. When i started working here, i wasn't wearing a hijab yet. But after half a year, i started wearing it. At first i was nervous and afraid of what might happen (which was why i took so long to start wearing hijab in the first place). But after learning and reading more from the Quran and syarahans, i felt guilty not wearing it. Alhamdulillah, Allah had given me hidayah to be stronger in my faith.
So far it's been pretty good. I dont feel any tension with anyone, theyre still as nice to me as they were before and the clients are also not showing any outward sign of displeasure or animosity. Syukur Alhamdulillah.
That's it for today. Have a good one! Salam :)
